Ferenc Pavlics: Revolution to the Moon
For your S.T.E.A.M.-based history and social studies curricula, Ferenc Pavlics: Revolution to the Moon is an exclusive Scottsdale Arts documentary video and study guide narrated by Ferenc Pavlics, the lead design engineer of the Apollo Lunar Rover. This inspirational first-hand account begins by relaying Mr. Pavlics’ experience as a refugee escaping the violent 1956 Hungarian revolution and journey to the United States. Part II tells the incredible story of how Mr. Pavlics convinced NASA that a lunar roving vehicle could be constructed within the tight space, weight and time constraints to fly on Apollo 15 (subsequently 16 and 17) with his handmade, one-sixth-scale, remote-controlled model.
